The Mental Illness Fellowship of Australia (formerly the Schizophrenia Fellowships Council of Australia) represents people affected by severe mental illness.

MIFA was established as the national body with state and territory member organisations that run programs to support and represent people with a severe mental illness and their carers.

Mr Philip Mangano visiting Australia for Schizophrenia Awareness Week

MIFA is pleased to announce that our guest for Schizophrenia Awareness Wekk 2008 will be Mr Philip Mangano, Executive Director of of United States Interagency Council on Homelessness and one of TIME Magazine's 100 Most Influential People 2006.

Mr Mangano will be visiting many states of Australia and talking about issues surrounding people with a mental illness and housing - which our Australians Talk Mental Illness survey recently revealed as the most critical issue facing people with a mental illness.

While in Australia, Mr Mangano will be touring NSW, Canberra, Western Australia and South Australia.

Submission to Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations

A new submission has been uploaded to the MIFA website. The Literature Review into the Impact of Schizophrenia, Psychosis and Bipolar Disorder on the Workplace which was undertaken on behalf of the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations in July 2007 has now been issues for public release.
